The
Rabbitry

"Maternity Wing"
The maternity wing of our
rabbitry was Cracker's stall, he was not happy being in there,
so we made better use of it. The new rabbitry (below), is attached to this
wing to the right.
This houses our Moms-to-Be
and the newly kindled litters. It has 7 large cages that are
excellent for growing litters.

"New Rabbitry
Addition"

This is the new rabbitry
Phil built. It is 12 x 24 feet and was built around a huge oak
tree that we could not bear to cut down (can't be seen in this
picture).
We have opening along the
top just under the roof all the way around the building that
is for air circulation and just below that are clear
fiberglass panels that let the sun in. The bottom is open all
around, also for air.
We added 4 large
windows
to the right side and 1 to the front side, 2 to the back side
to help with air circulation and
sunlight.
We have 6 box fans, 2
ceiling fans and 1 Industrial fan for
the summer to help with cooling & air circulation and a
small heater in the maternity
ward for the below freezing nights we have in the winter.
The small shed to the
right
is the shelter for Under Suspicion.

This part of the rabbitry
right now houses 52 cages
with 104 holes for rabbits, not including babies that share Mom's cage until
weaned.
Yep! they are all full!

The Oak we did not
want to cut down. Left side,
that houses some Lionheads,
Jersey Woolies & Dutch.
