Our Horse - "Cracker"

Cracker1504Crop.JPG (6866 bytes)

Cracker is a Palomino Paint who is part Quarter Horse and part Florida Cracker Horse.

Yes, there is such a horse as a Florida Cracker.

He is 8 years old and rides western. He prefers the pasture over his stall.

He also loves to roll in the Florida sand...right after a 3 hour bath & grooming session.

But, what a personality!

The Rabbitry

"Maternity Wing"

The maternity wing of our rabbitry was Cracker's stall, he was not happy being in there, so we made better use of it. The new rabbitry (below), is attached to this wing to the right.

This houses our Moms-to-Be and the newly kindled litters. It has 7 large cages that are excellent for growing litters.

"New Rabbitry Addition"

Rabbitry.jpg (20941 bytes)

This is the new rabbitry Phil built. It is 12 x 24 feet and was built around a huge oak tree that we could not bear to cut down (can't be seen in this picture).

We have opening along the top just under the roof all the way around the building that is for air circulation and just below that are clear fiberglass panels that let the sun in. The bottom is open all around, also for air.

We added 4 large  windows
to the right side and 1 to the front side, 2 to the back side to help with air circulation and sunlight.

We have 6 box fans, 2 ceiling fans and 1 Industrial fan for the summer to help with cooling & air circulation and a small heater in the maternity ward for the below freezing nights we have in the winter.

The small shed to the right
is the shelter for Under Suspicion.

This part of the rabbitry
right now houses 52 cages
with 104 holes for rabbits, not including babies that share Mom's cage until weaned.
Yep! they are all full!

Our Miniature Horses

Spirit4.jpg (22517 bytes)

"Spirit"

Spirit is our mini horse mare and she is 6 mos. old.

We don't know what color she will be when she gets older but right now she is a yummy chocolate brown.

She has a corral out in the pasture near Cracker, her field buddy.

"Under Suspicion"

Under Suspicion is our mini horse stallion and is 11 years old.

He is a brown & white Pinto.
He is a sly one but adorable.

He has a corral that surrounds our rabbitry and he loves trying to  sneak in to visit the bunnies.

He went on a diet and now looks sleek and trim!
